Day 1   London to Wuppertal

Lunchtime Eurostar from St Pancras via Brussels and Cologne to Wuppertal for an overnight stay.

Day 2   Wuppertal to Bamberg

A free morning in Wuppertal followed by Intercity train across Germany via Hagen, Kassel, Würzburg to Bamberg.

Day 3   Day of Steam or Leisure

Optional excursion to the steam locomotive works at Meiningen or enjoy the day at leisure.

Days 4 to 5   Relaxation and Railways

Free time or join guided excursions to the Oberweissbacher Bergbahn and Schwarzatalbahn railways and the railway museum at Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg.

Festive shopping at Bamberg's illuminated Christmas MarketTime to explore Bamberg Christmas Market and its popular Nativity Trail with 40 Nativity scenes located around the town and Christmas Market or use your InterRail Pass to explore further afield.

Day 7   Cologne Christmas markets

Regional train to Würzburg then ICE service to Cologne for an overnight stay and a chance to explore this city’s many Christmas Markets.

Day 8   Return to London

Arrive St Pancras via Brussels by mid-afternoon.
