UNESCO World Heritage city Bruges, sometimes referred to as The Venice of the North, is our base for this five day holiday.
Day 1 – London to Bruges
Boarding a mid-morning Eurostar, we travel via Brussels to arrive Bruges mid-afternoon. The afternoon is yours to explore at leisure.
Day 2 – Canals and Chocolate
Today we sample the rich culture and history of Bruges by embarking on a guided walking tour of the city. Belgium is of course famed for its chocolates and no visit would be complete without a chocolate making workshop, at the end of which you will be able to take home and enjoy the fruits of your labour.
Day 3 – Stoomcentrum Maldagem
We’ll catch a morning train to Ghent and have a little free time to explore the city before making our way to Eeklo where we board a steam train for Maldagem. We have some time to explore the Stoomcentrum Maldegem before heading back to Bruges.
Day 4 – A Visit to Ostend
A mere fifteen minutes by train from Bruges is the cosmopolitan coastal city Ostend. You have a free day to explore the city at leisure. Its coastal tram system, famous locally brewed beers, museums and rich maritime history guarantees there will be plenty to do.
Day 5 – Journey Home
An early afternoon departure from Bruges gives you an opportunity for a little last-minute sightseeing before heading home. We arrive London St Pancras late afternoon.
