Friday 13 April to Sunday 15 April 2012

What better way to experience the beauty of Snowdonia National Park than to ride on a great little steam train aptly named “The Snowdonian” and travel 80-miles of 2ft narrow gauge track through North Wales’s finest countryside.                                  The Snowdonian - Andrew Thomas

The Snowdonian Steam Train will return for another one-off excursion in 2012 following the success of its inaugural 80-mile trip over the full length of the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways last year. Ffestiniog Travel is delighted to offer an unescorted mini-break to give customers the chance to experience this special journey and delight in Snowdonia’s beauty and appreciate the wonderful Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railways during this unique steam event.

The Snowdonian in full steam - Andrew Thomas

As with “The Snowdonian’s” 2011 80-mile round trip, all profits will again go towards the preservation of the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railways, so as you sit back and enjoy the ride you can take additional pleasure in knowing you are contributing to the continued future of steam in Snowdonia.

This mini-break includes your seat on the private “Snowdonian” train as it travels from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog, on to Caernarfon before returning to Porthmadog.  For those steam connoisseurs among you, locomotive power will be provided by steam engines Linda and Blanche on the Ffestiniog Railway and Double Fairlies on the WHR. Two night’s accommodation in Porthmadog is included in the package.
