The Swiss part of the trip included journeys on both the Glacier and Bernina Express trains. One of the most outstanding ski areas is Tyrol in Austria, but what is the best way of getting there and exploring the whole region to make the most of a winter trip? Riga to St Petersburg by Train

We arranged a bespoke rail itinerary for a group of four adults who wanted to tour the Baltic region, which included the countries of Latvia, Estonia and Russia. The 10-day tour allowed plenty of time to explore the sites of Riga, Tallinn, Tartu and St Petersburg. We arranged flights, all rail travel, some transfers and all accommodation, plus a sightseeing tour of St Petersburg.

Travel to Poland by rail to join the Wolsztyn Experience for a memorable 5-day steam-hauled trip. Travel to Lodz on new track between Leszno and Ostrow, and onto Warsaw (again on new track), before continuing to the lakeland region of Masuria. Once in beautiful Masuria, cover the branch lines to Bartoszyce, Skandawa, Wielbark and Chorzele. On the return journey to Wolsztyn, travel the historic Ostbahn from Tczew to Pila.
