As a rail tour company Ffestiniog Travel is committed to supporting the preservation of heritage railways around the world by including them in most of our escorted tours and promoting them within our Tailored Rail holidays. Heritage Railways have become major tourist attractions, drawing in over hundreds of thousands of visitors annually who wish to immerse themselves in lovingly recreated time capsules that travel through scenic landscapes. The UK boasts many historic railways across the country and they provide a wonderful backdrop from which to explore the various regions of Britain - on board a nostaglic form of transport. Many of these railways run special events which showcase the very best of steam. We have identified such events and created short mini-breaks around them to allow you to enjoy the wonderful history of steam and the pleasure it still provides today.
