Ffestiniog Travel is a sister company of the famous Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways (FR/WHR) and is owned by a charitable trust. Our profits help support the continued preservation of both heritage railways - important tourist attractions that help create employment and revenue for North Wales.  Every tour, rail holiday or train ticket you book through Ffestiniog Travel helps support the future of these narrow gauge heritage railways.

Prior to the launch of Ffestiniog Travel in 1974 we were known as the Travel Agency arm of the Ffestiniog Railway - providing a successful rail ticket only service for people wanting to travel by train in the UK and Europe.  The move towards escorted tours and tailor made rail holidays was a natural step for Ffestiniog Travel as the passion, knowledge and expertise was already in place and was matched by a growing interest in rail holidays at the time.
