A train that never falls short of promising you a royal experience, the Maharajas' Express features carriages with Deluxe Cabins, six Junior Suites, two Suites and one Grand Presidential Suite. Each has large panoramic windows allowing you to savour every bit of magnificent India. Enjoy individual temperature controls, televisions & DVD players, direct dial telephone and internet. In-house movies and live television also keep you entertained during the journey and you will be equipped with complimentary sightseeing kits such as bottle coolers, pith hats and shoe uppers on days out. The Maharajas' Express has two fine dining restaurants that allowing everyone on board to dine together. Relax in one of two bars including an exotic Safari bar and the lounge bar Rajah Club with comfortable club arm-chairs and there is even a high-end boutique featuring exquisite and unique creations. All brought to you by a team of highly motivated hospitality staff ensuring the guest experience is unmatched and every need is not just met, but anticipated.

Depart the capital city of Delhi and make your way through the sacred city of Varanasi and cruise on the River Ganges to observe ancient spiritual rites. Witness the immortal beauty of the Taj Mahal in Agra, the sensuous moods of the temples of Khajuraho, the elegance and imperial splendour in Lucknow and the wilderness of the Ranthambore National Park.

Day 1 – Board the Train at Delhi onto Agra

A traditional welcome will greet you when you board the train and enjoy dinner as you begin this wonderful journey.

Day 2 – Jaipur

On board breakfast followed by a visit to the Amber Fort. Later enjoy an Elephant Polo match with lunch at an exclusive venue. In the afternoon you can enjoy optional activities-Spa Treatment/Shopping/ Golf/visit to City Palace and Jantar Mantar.

Day 3 – Ranthambore - Fatehpur Sikri

Embark on an exciting game drive into the Ranthambore National Park. Enjoy lunch on board as you enter into Fatehpur Sikri. Visit the Sikri Fort.

Day 4 – Agra - Gwalior

Disembark for an early morning visit to the exquisite Taj Mahal followed by a champagne breakfast. Continue to Gwalior to relish lunch at the 120 year-old Usha Kiran Palace, followed by a tour of the magnificent Gwalior Fort and opulent Jai Vilas with high-tea in the palace compounds.

Day 5 – Orchha - Khajuraho

Proceed to the bejewelled Jahangin Mahal in Orchha and continue to the World Heritage temples of Khajuraho.

Day 6 – Varanasi

Tour the holy city of Varanasi including the ancient ruins of Sarnath, Varanasi Silk Weaving Centre and a scenic cruise on the sacred Ganges. Witness the magical evening Aarti on the ghat: of the Ganges.

Day 7 – Lucknow

Welcome to the enchanted 'City of Nawabs', Lucknow. Tour the Rumi Darwaza and the spectacular Bada lmambara. Opt to explore the bustling markets of this royal city. Experience the elegance and charm of traditional hospitality during an exclusive dinner and relish Awadhi cuisine from the Royal Kitchen.

Day 8 – Delhi

After breakfast, disembark into Delhi and bid farewell to the train.
