Just 20 minutes by train from Amsterdam, the medieval city of Haarlem offers a quieter, more authentic view of Dutch life for our 5-day cultural visit to the Netherlands.
Day 1 – Travel to Haarlem
Boarding a mid-morning Eurostar to Brussels we begin our journey to the Netherlands, arriving Haarlem early evening.
Day 2 – Flora and Sightseeing
Travel by train from Haarlem to Amsterdam for a visit to Hortus Botanicus, one of the world’s oldest botanical gardens, before spending the afternoon enjoying a guided tour of Amsterdam.
Day 3 – Windmill and Canals
We make our way back into Amsterdam this morning for a canal cruise of the city. After lunch we return to Haarlem for a tour of De Adriaan Windmill, which offers a breathtaking view of Haarlem from the viewing platform.
Day 4 – Zaanse Schans
Open-air museum Zaanse Schans offers a glimpse of what life was like in the Netherlands during the 18th and 19th Centuries. After our half-day excursion, you have a free afternoon to explore at leisure.
Day 5 – Homeward Bound
We leave Haarlem mid-morning, travelling via Amsterdam and Brussels to arrive London early afternoon.
