Travel to Poland by rail to join the Wolsztyn Experience for a memorable 5-day steam-hauled trip. Travel to Lodz on new track between Leszno and Ostrow, and onto Warsaw (again on new track), before continuing to the lakeland region of Masuria. Once in beautiful Masuria, cover the branch lines to Bartoszyce, Skandawa, Wielbark and Chorzele. On the return journey to Wolsztyn, travel the historic Ostbahn from Tczew to Pila.


Day 1 – To Berlin

Leave London St Pancras on a morning Eurostar and travel via Brussels and Cologne to Berlin. Arrive late evening for a 1-night stay at the InterCity Hotel which is located right next to the railway station.

Day 2 – Arrive Wolsztyn

Travel by regional trains from Berlin to Wolsztyn. Once in Wolsztyn, you are guests of the Wolsztyn Experience who provide the accommodation for the next 6 nights as well as running the trains.

Day 3 – Steam Day 1

The steam route today will be Wolsztyn - Leszno - Ostrow - Kalisz - Zdunska Wola - Lodz Kaliska - Zgierz - Lodz Ulechow.

Day 4 – Steam Journey to Olsztyn

Today you will journey via Warsaw to the stunning Masuria region, famous for its 2,000 lakes. The route will be Lodz Kaliska - Piotrkow Tryb - Belchatow - Lodz Widzew - Skierniewice - Warsawa Gdanska - Nasielsk - Dzialdowo - Olsztyn.

Day 5 – Steam Day 3

Enjoy some of the branch lines that run through this scenic area on a route that will include Olsztyn - Korsze - Bartoszyce - Skandawa - Olsztyn - Szczytno - Wielbark - Chorzele - Szczytno - Olsztyn.

Day 6 – Steam Day 4

Another branch line to enjoy which includes Olsztyn - Mragowo - Olsztyn - Gizycko - Elk - Grajewo - Elk - Gizycko - Olsztyn.

Day 7 – Return to Wolsztyn

Return to Wolsztyn by steam-hauled train on a route that includes the historic Ostbahn - Olsztyn - Elblag - Malbork - Starograd Gd - Chojnice - Pila - Wolsztyn.

Day 8 – To Cologne

Transfer to Zbaszynek for rail travel to Cologne via Berlin. Arrive early evening for a 1-night stay at the Ibis Köln am Dom which is integrated into the railway station.

Day 9 – Return Home

A morning train from Cologne sees you arrive back into Brussels in time to catch the lunchtime Eurostar back to London.
