Travel by train from London to Hong Kong on a route that goes via Moscow to Beijing on the iconic Trans-Mongolian Express. This 18-day rail odyssey allows time to explore these three very different destinations while you sit back and enjoy the changing scenery as you travel by land enjoying the view from the comfort of your rail carriage armchair.


Days 1-3 - Depart London for Moscow

Travel from London’s St Pancras across Europe via Brussels, Cologne and Warsaw to Moscow, which involves two overnight railway journeys.

Day 3 - Moscow

Morning arrival in Moscow and you will be transferred directly to your hotel. After you settle into the hotel, you will be taken on a Full City Tour of Moscow to give you an idea of what to see and do.

Day 4 – Explore Moscow

After Breakfast, you will be met and taken on the Kremlin and Armoury tour which will allow you to see a “behind the scenes” view of Moscow. Evening at leisure.

Day 5 – Board the Trans-Mongolian Express

Morning and early afternoon free to see the sights of Moscow you have yet to see. You will be collected in the early evening for your transfer back to the railway station to board the Trans-Mongolian train for Beijing.

Days 6 to 10 - On Board the Trans-Mongolian Express

This iconic train journey makes several unscheduled stops, allowing just enough time to purchase stocks for your larder and drinks cabinet. At Ulaan Baatar, the capital city of Mongolia, the train will make a very brief stop when you can make a few purchases from Mongolian traders selling their wares on the station platform.

Day 11 – Arrive Beijing

Early morning arrival into Beijing Central Station, where your Trans Mongolian journey comes to an end. On arrival in Beijing you will be met by an English speaking representative and transferred to your hotel - 4 star Xinqiao Novotel Hotel (A building). Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 12 – Sightseeing in Beijing

After breakfast you will be taken on a full day tour including Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City & the Temple of Heaven. Lunch is included. This evening you will be taken to the Peking Opera for one of their cultural performances.

Day 13 – Great Wall of China and more

Breakfast at hotel before you take a full day private coach tour to include the Great Wall at Badaling Section, Ming Tombs & Sacred Road. Traditional Chinese lunch is included. Your evening will be a Peking Duck dinner at one of Beijing’s famous restaurants before being transferred back to your hotel.

Day 14 – More Chinese Treasures

After breakfast take another full day tour that includes the Summer Palace & Hutong Tour. Once again lunch has been included. Return to hotel where you have an evening at leisure.

Day 15 – Onward to Hong Kong

After breakfast and room check-out you will be transferred to the railway station for your onward journey to Hong Kong which will be an overnight journey in a shared compartment in Soft Sleeper Class.

Day 16 - Arrive Hong Kong

Arrive in Hong Kong at lunchtime and transfer to your hotel before enjoying an afternoon at leisure.

Day 17 – Free day to Explore Hong Kong

Day at leisure before an evening transfer to the airport for your return flight back to the UK.
