ITINERARY

Day 1

Flight to Bangkok

Day 2

Private transfer to hotel. Accommodation in Bangkok for 1 night.

Day 3

Board the luxury 'Eastern & Oriental Express' to Singapore. The Eastern & Oriental Express train offers luxury travel through some of the world's most exotic landscapes and is the sister train to Europe's legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.

Day 4

Disembark at the River Kwai Bridge station. Guides escort you on the short walk down to the jetty to board a local raft for a cruise along the lush greenery of the picturesque Kwai Yai River, passing under the bridge. At the E&O landing point, board a motor-coach for a brief trip past the North Temple and Chinese Cemetery to the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre.

Day 5

Brunch is served before arrival into Butterworth where you will disembark for the crossing to Penang and a guided introductory tour of colonial Georgetown with pre-World War II mosques, elaborately-roofed temples, churches, bazaars and colourful shophouses.

Day 6

On arrival in Singapore, you will have a private transfer to your hotel. Accommodation in Singapore for 3 nights.

Day 7

You will see all of Singapore's 'must see' attractions, featuring visits to little India and the national orchid garden.

Day 8

Visit Raffles Landing site, Raffles Hotel, Clarke Quay and go bumboat cruising on Singapore River. Enjoy afternoon tea at Raffles.

Day 9

Private transfer to airport for flight to Kota Kinabalu. Accommodation in Kota Kinabalu for 2 nights.

Day 10

Enjoy a guided walk through picturesque Kinabalu Park with the park's naturalist and an informative presentation before a transfer back to your hotel.

Day 11

An early morning flight to Sandakan and speedboat to Selingan Turtle Island leaves you free to relax. In the evening, a park ranger escorts you to watch the Green Turtles that have come ashore to lay eggs or perhaps see newly-hatched baby turtles released into the sea. Overnight in an Island Chalet.

Day 12

Back to Sandakan to visit the Orang-utan Rehabilitation Sanctuary. See the Orang-utans feeding and relaxing in their rainforest habitat and cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you lunch at Abai Village. Continue upriver to Sukau in search of Proboscis monkeys and late afternoon, travel down the Menanggul River. Overnight in Riverside Lodge.

Day 13

Relax on a river cruise to Sandakan, visit a colourful market and enjoy a local lunch before an airport transfer for your flight to Kota Kinabalu. Overnight in Kota Kinabalu.

Day 14

Private transfer to the airport for your flight to Kuala Lumpur. On arrival, private transfer to your hotel for a 3-night stay.

Day 15

Visit the colonial buildings of Kota Melawati, have a leisurely trip in a traditional tongkang and see the amazing fireflies.

Day 16

Visit Pulau Ketam Island and its landmarks before heading back to Kuala Lumpur and relax at Kuala Selangor.

Day 17

Private transfer to the airport for your flight home.
