Begin in Dylan’s birthplace city of Swansea where we recommend staying for 2 nights
It is possible to stay in the self-catering house where the poet and writer was born and first put pen to paper
The Dylan Thomas Centre is well worth a visit and has a permanent exhibition on his life as well as a restaurant where you can have lunch
From Swansea we suggest you take a return rail and bus journey via Camarthen to Laugharne to visit the boathouse, now a museum, where Dylan spent the last years of his life
To extend your trip and for a scenic train journey onwards why not take the Heart of Wales Line to the historic city of Shrewsbury. It is often described as travelling through the ‘land of poets’
It is possible to continue onto the seaside town of Aberystwyth later in the afternoon travelling on the scenic Cambrian Line
